Sevcom Music Server is a series of CDs intended to capture 8 working hours of MUZAK style background music – with some unpleasant overtones. The first 4 discs were produced between 1998 and 2004, when synch rights were acquired by Pod Film for the movie The Illustrated Family Doctor. This film was issued alongside a soundtrack CD/DVD produced by Manasounds in 2005 which was awarded an Australian Recording Industry Award (ARIA) in the soundtrack category.
After a suitable legal pause the second tranche of downloadable albums 5-8 were released on the Nilamox label from 2021. Although the 8 hour duration wasn’t ever reached the concept of a MUZAK server finally appeared on this page in 2022. The underlying mechanism has just been repaired at the start of 2024.
